I Remember
I remember
First a twinge
Soon full out hand springs
Inside of me
You were becoming someone
Anxious for space you came out
So much to learn now, you and me
I watched you unfold
Growing, learning changing
I remember
The walks talks thoughts
The drives the rides the hurrying
Eating on the run
Teaching laughing crying worrying
And yes, fighting
To figure out who you were
Your place in the world
I stop
Dry my eyes and wonder
Do you remember?
So far away for you now that time
So close for me still
Shadows of a different world, our world
I wish, I wonder, I wait for your call
